Nigrun Overrun

Tonight and I have created a zine for a long over due adventure, Nigrun Overrun. This adventure can be used system agnostic as we explore other RPGs out there other than D&D. So please adjust to what ever creatures you are using in your adventure! However as always Kobold fight club can be used to quickly balance an encounter for Dungeons and Dragons and Tetra-cube currently provides the stat-blocks for creatures in this adventure.

So I hope you enjoy this weeks adventure, Nigrun Overrun. There is a lot more content within the Zine, again, this week so if you want to get the full experience then download the pdf!

If you like this format please let me know and I hope you enjoy.

The view from Platara – created in nightcafe.

After the revelations made at the Ice Spire the party looked towards the next mark on their map, the Well of Souls, with a better understanding. The Ice Walker elders had heard stories of the Well of Souls from traders. A place where undead crawl through the muck of the swamps – all summoned fourth from the beating heart of it all, the Well of Souls.

These locations that Andrasa had marked all held great power but they seemed to contain, attract and even summon forth evil into the world. The Path to the Well of Souls would be a difficult path if it wasn’t for the advice given by the Ice Walker tribe before they moved on.

There were two ways out of Platara and towards the Tulkore jungle. Either by sea, a relatively safe affair when the weather is good and by land across the flat plains of Platara a distance from the coast but with it in view. The party would need to decide a cause and head for Nigrun before pushing onwards to Ferklend Port.

Thanks for joining me tonight for another Zine. This one had more content added to the Zine but like a few of my other ones I kept that in the Zine, not the blog. So you will just have to trust me on that and grab a copy of the Zine to check it out.

Next time you get a party together consider running this adventure and I hope that you enjoy it.
I hope you don’t miss a thing so come back daily in the coming week. This is so you can experience the creation of the next adventure as it evolves and shapes out. And as always, don’t forget to roll with advantage,

Platara Glacier near the Ice Spire- created in nightcafe.

After rescuing the people from the Icewalker tribe, the party looked through the snowstorm that had blanketed the landscape when they entered the Den of the Lost souls. The Ice Spire towered above them, so close that its frozen form called to them.

The Frozen shard of ice, the first in several places that Andrasa called and singled out as important places. Would it hold treasure, wealth or powerful artefacts? Was it a bastion of knowledge or a prison for one of her enemies. Time would tell and the party was within walking distance of it.

The City of Hark – created in nightcafe.

Rumours have flitted around the city of Hark for many years of magic, sorcery and wealth hoarded by some of the noble families of the city. Some had been investigated but nothing had ever come from such rumours.

Some investigators quickly rose through the ranks and were granted manors and a life of privilege of which they hadn’t been entitled to before as a result of their investigation. This only spurred the rumours on more.

However, the city of Hark is a mercantile city where religion, wealth and politics blend into a miasma of discord and discontent. The Party find themselves in a busy chaotic city where your station seems to be judged by the size of your purse.

After their confrontation with the Remorhaz on the thin and fragile ledges of the Platara Ridge the party were relieved to make it to the top.

The sun reflected the whites and blues of the frigid landscape and in the distance a large glacier lay between the peaks of some of the tallest places in the continent. But if creatures like the one they battled call this place home what other ordeals wait for them on the Platara Ice fields.

After the discoveries made at the tower of Andrasa the party uncovered something more. Three sites marked and labelled by the Arch mage herself in a language unknown to all. The closest being the Ice spire in the lands of Platara, a frigid region to the north.

These places could be a place of great opportunity, danger, or both but the adventurers will only find out once it’s too late.

After returning to Rastabar with the party spent a few days resting and seeing the sights. The markets were filled with local and exotic wares and they had access to almost any magical or mundane item they could wish for, the right amount of gold permitting of course. But the strange and exotic animals also drew them in. Wind cutters, hyenas, a fellgorger and something both chained, caged and contained in a giant wooden crate that occasionally rattled. All these weird and wonderful creatures are all up for sale.

But despite their shopping and rest it wasn’t long until Lucile asked for them to join her at her warehouse.

“Now I don’t need to say thanks again, the payment should be enough for that, but I do have something else to offer. The land has changed since Andrasa drew her map but we believe we know where she was talking about. If they were placed Andrasa had pointed out or was drawn to they would certainly be placed of great interest. We have updated one of our modern maps with Andrasa’s key points and I want to give it to you. While Andrasa will always be my favourite subject it’s what she did with Rastabar that makes it special to me.”

Lucile Bendercuff – Created in Nightcafe

Although the ship had been paid for by Lucile the captain, Alex, seemed less sure of the job. “I don’t really fly up that part of the Desert. Tribes in the desert have been known to attack merchants given the chance, flying ship or otherwise.” he said as he looked over the helm and railing.

“There is a crate of supplies there, a gift from Lucile. You lot made that young woman’s dreams come true by uncovering stuff about that old mage. She hasn’t been this excited in years.” he said with a nod as the party opened the crate and looked at the rations, climbing gear, warm clothes and tent. Just don’t go do something stupid. These places were marked for a reason and it may not be the right one. The closest is the Spire, a spike of ice. I saw it once I did when I traded with some barbarian tribes of the ice plains. That was before I got the ship though. Magic plays up on the ice.”

Continuing on from the party finding the lost lore of Rastabar they eagerly return to Lucile Bendercliff. But while they think that the loose strings from their encounter on the streets outside of Rastabars Library, a separate interested party was close behind them.

While the airship was readied, the captain readied it for anything he had encountered before. With their trusted navigator already mapping the chart and consulting the map that Lucile was hastily sketching out, the party was nearly ready to go.

But would they get there too late?

Entering the city felt like a dream. The flying ship carefully lowered the carcass of the dragon and the statue, wrapped in cloth directly into a warehouse that their client, Lucile, owned. A group of tight-lipped people rushed out and moved both body and construct into a large warehouse and the party were ushered inside.

Inside of the warehouse were isles of boxes where people moved goods from one place to another. Guards watched from walkways above the isles as people went around moving stock and cargo from one place to the next.

“Excuse me! Coming through!” a voice rang out as a Tabaxi pushed a wheelbarrow full of bags of spice as other workers followed with boxes, bags and crates. Turning to watch the precession the goods were taken to the ropes from the airshop they came from and hoisted up into its hold. No rest for the industrious it seems.

Slowly they were being moved before a familiar young woman, Lucile, who stood watching the dragon and covered construct move into a secondary large room. “We have much to discuss. Come with me to my office if you will”.

The party talks to Taliah and Jake, normally rivals at two separate taverns in Trenchold, and are working together to see if they can find people brave enough to go into the Trenchold hills.

Recently a gang of bandits has been robbing people that pass through or near the hills. Rumours have put their numbers in the hundreds but they don’t believe that is the case. The cities nearby aren’t committed to ridding the good people of Trenchold from the bandit plague.

However both Taliah, Tilly, and Jake are worried about something more. The last few people to fall victim to the bandits have not been found and the people of Trenchold are worried that a ransom note has not been sent their way.

The Ruins of Rastabar

The city of Rastabar was a sprawling nest of sandstone buildings protected from the harsh desert conditions and by a giant stone wall. Created centuries ago the city has stood the test of time but they have a problem. The city has grown so much that the sources of water and plant life are not able to sustain them any longer.

This has made the rush to find another source of these precious resources even more urgent and the business people behind it ever more powerful and wealthy.

However, not even the greatest schemers and merchants could’ve predicted a giant cloud appearing in the skies above the desert or the rumours that the clouds contained something more than the promise of rain.

A young Fire Genasi woman stands in the middle of the street and stares towards the volcano. “Worshippers of the false idol see your ruin. The time for this land to be cleaned by the fires of rebirth is upon us. He rises. He rises. He rises. The effort of your devout and faithful is in vain for He rises once again.”

As she finishes saying this a rumbling happens and an audible crack resonates from the mountain. A large jet of water erupts from the lake at the top of the crater with a great plume of steam.
