The Felkirk Docks are the scene of the bloodiest battle so far. As the Streets have been cleared the waves of men and women attacking people on the street have dwindled – but all is not clear yet as the docks are still taken over.
So grab a coffee, sink down into your comfortable chairs as we row off into tonight’s adventure map!
The steady waves that rolled in from the bay against the shore betrayed the chaos and bloodbath that had taken place here over the last few hours. As the flames from the burning ships spread to the docks the light flickered across the water and the armour that the soldiers wore as they moved about the docks and aboard the ship.
A single working pier stood while soldiers moved on and off it as they transported what they had looted from buildings or taken from the bodies of those that now burned in piles. However the boats they had commandeered to run the ill-sourced goods had closed off roofs that hid much of the cargo from view.
A relatively easy one tonight with only a few textures used with a few art assets. By controlling light and the placement of items around the battlefield to provide either cover, depth of the narrative or as inspiration for what the party could do to accomplish their objective.
Thanks for joining for another map night this week. Don’t forget that we have a few more nights left this week so make sure to come back each day to see what I add to this adventure. And lastly, as always, don’t forget to roll with advantage, The Brazen Wolfe
As the party look across the docks they realise that all problems would be fixed with a galley assault – removing the command hub and the controlling vessel from the centre of the bay. But how do they get past its sick sinking ballista?
So thinking caps out, weapons ready as we look at sinking a galley in tonight’s adventure!
Galley Assault

Galley Assault – Created in WordPress.
The party noticed a pattern as they watched the soldiers move too and from the Galley to the shore. As small groups they would row out from the galley to be greeted by other soldiers on the shore. Several more important looking soldiers would be standing watch and they would oversee the soldiers getting off the rowboats before ushering another group of the terrifyingly masked soldiers onto the rowboat.
Those returning to the galley didn’t do it with empty hands – oh no. They had chests, barrels, small crates and even prisoners that they took on board back to the galley. Those approaching the galley stood up and waved a torch as they approached while the large ballistae that were mounted on the broadside of the ship watched the row boats that approached with a vigilance that would put guards on city walls to shame.
But a pattern was appearing and as they watched the ebb and flow of people and the growing boundaries of where the soldiers will pillaging and raiding expand past the edge of the docks the criticality of the situation was becoming more pressing. It was only a matter of time that their lofty lookout from the roof of the warehouse became under heavier scrutiny from the soldiers and as Bunker grew more restless it was only a matter of time until they drew attention to themselves.
The crack of ballista fire echoes across the docks, even above the crackle of fire and the cries of injured and dying. A matching splintering of wood, an explosion of debris from a small sailing ship that was docked just up from them told them where the projectile had gone. The cries of those hiding on board were short lived as they fled the scuttled ship as the masked soldiers waited to capture or cut down those who tried to flee the sinking vessel.
One thing was for certain – the ship had to go and a galley assault was on the cards for tonight’s plan of attack.
Thanks for dropping by for another night at my tabletop. Don’t forget as we passed the midway point we have maps and monsters, well creature stat blocks left for this week. With the ongoing issues in the docks the party would need a safe way in, but they weren’t expecting help to come from a solitary resistance rigger. Skilled at shifting cargo from ships holds and onto the docks who knew that the was other applications for such expertise?
So grab your ropes, pulleys and winches as we attempt to lift above the chaos in the docks with tonight’s adventure!
Resistance Rigger

Resistance Rigger – Created in WordPress.
Each way the party investigated into the docks there were soldiers. Not just a few but enough that there was no way to get in both quietly and unscathed. As they were returning the way they had came they came across a swinging rope that had come loose from a support beam above them. A series of pullies could be seen at the top and a hook lay at the bottom, swinging a foot or so from the pavement below.
‘Psst.’ a voice trickled down from above them. ‘Psst. Up here.’ The party followed the voice to find a sturdy looking man crouching by an opening in the roof above them. He was a dockworker and by the looks of him he was a rigger, a worker who specialised in getting the largest and heaviest of goods from ships and into wagons to get to where they need to be.
After a few moments of thinking the party ascended the rope and he extended a platform that enabled them to get into the roof where he was. Inside there were several crates, barrels and even an empty cage. It took a few moments before the party found the small pile of armour that looked as if it belonged to the soldiers on the docks. Following their gaze the man puffed our his broad chest.
‘The names Bunker, I’m the resistance, and a rigger, a resistance rigger.’ he grinned. ‘These men tried take me down but I know these buildings like the back of my hand. This is my dock and they aint’ about to take that away from me.’ he thumped his chest for emphasis.
The man was broad, bald and stood a bit over six feet tall. Sharp brown eyes that shone with an intelligence that came from years of mastering his craft. ‘So what’s the plan? The guard are coming? The mercenary guild tried but their men and women make up some of the burning piles of bodies. Actually the guard are in the pile too.’ Bunker then crouched and crawled across the roof top where he was.
Across from there was another roof-access door that enabled items to be hauled up into the roof from the dockside but the gaps in the door allowed the party to view the docks perfectly. The docks swarmed with soldiers – it was not going to be an easy time expelling these invaders.

So tonight we have the second adventure that stems from Invasion Force and continuing on from Felkirkโs Foot Traffic where this week we have the party investigating Sodden Shoes, Scuttled Ships and much more. But before we get there the sounds of fear, pain and rage echo from the docks and another series of hard won battles awaits the party.
So get ready, grab a coffee to go as we once again take off to save the city of Felkirk in tonight’s adventure!
The docks was where the biggest battle had occurred in Felkirk with several navy boats already sunk and a large galley sitting out moored in the middle of the bay. As row boats ferried boatloads of people to the shore the normally water covered docks were sticky with the metallic ichor and smell of blood that even overrode the stench of day old fish.
Mercenaries, Guards, and even private troops of the wealthy merchants lay dead or dying across the piers and along the steps leading down to where their boats and warehouses normally lay. Armed men and women patrolled the docks and looted what they could easily take and destroyed those that they couldn’t.
But a glimmer of hope comes from a group of adventurers drawn to the chaos and the sounds of battle as the days of death and fighting continue.

The smell of burning wood, the sounds of screaming and the flashes of light were all that told the party that there was trouble brewing at the docks. The streets near the merchant quarter where they were residing at the Lost Anchor Inn had quietened down a fair bit after the warehouse functioning as a base of operations for a ground invasion of would-be assassins had been located and the residence evicted in the most unpleasant of ways.
But the sounds and sights from the docks were growing and an increasing number of disturbing reports from haggard and fearful citizens of Felkirk were arriving. A large ship crewed by demons had torn through the moored vessels in the bay, had scuttled them one by one while demons rushed around the docks gutting and dismembering the dock workers before turning their rage and thirst for blood towards the wares and goods of the harbour itself.
Taking leave of their brief respite the party head towards the docks, travelling down Fishermans Road as they followed the flickering lights and sounds of screams from the docks. As they got closer they spotted several small fires that cast the tall warehouses in an flickering orange glow. The sounds had grown by now too from a distant chorus of pain, fear and anger which was only punctuated by guttural roars of delight.
Then the first views came. At first the reports seemed true, demons had attack the docks and they hacked, tore and ripped apart what they could find and took the spoils of their labour back towards the burning at the waters edge. But then the truth was revealed.
Warriors clad in horrific armour wielding weapons with tremendous ease and skill. The fires were not from hellgates but from burning ships and piles of bodies that had been killed, stripped of their valuables and thrown into a pile. These were men and women and they took their valuables across to a large galley that was moored in the middle of the bay, its large ballistae pointed towards the remaining ships in the bay; daring them to move to give the larger predatorial ship an excuse to launch is ship-killer bolts.
It appeared as though the attack by the assassins on the streets was not the only attack that was happening on the city. As they watched they noticed several patrols walking around the edge of the docks, cutting down any who got too close and dragging them back into the docks.
The night was not over and it was certain that only soggy shoes, scuttled ships and sadistic soldiers waited for them along the piers and warehouses within the docks.
Thanks for visiting for another start of the week adventure kick off night. Tonight we are back into it with things getting back to normal here. So don’t forget to come around for more adventure crafting tomorrow and the rest of the week as we continue to grow and expand this adventure into something memorable for our parties. Now for the next Zine of the year I present, in single page zine format, Felkirk’s Foot Traffic. I still believe that these provide DMs a lot more freedom to tinker with it how they want and open up the adventures to be more free formed and flowing than the larger booklet zines.
There is references to the blog nights which are D&D centric but it can easily use the adversary stat-blocks highlighted in Friday nights post if you’re running Daggerheart. As always Kobold fight club can be used to quickly balance an encounter for Dungeons and Dragons and Tetra-cube provides the stat-blocks for many of my D&D creatures.
So I hope you enjoy this weeks adventure, Felkirk’s Foot Traffic, and that all your rolls are made with advantage.

Beneath the shroud of darkness, steel found its voice once more. The warehouse doors slammed open, and masked figures surged forward, flooding the street with silent ferocity. Their blades gleamed in the lamplight, each strike a calculated attempt to break through the sudden clash erupting outside their hidden nest. The narrow alleys transformed into battlegrounds where echoes of grunts, steel, and rushing footsteps collided. Amid the scuffle, crates were overturned and market stalls splintered, turning Market Street into a deadly labyrinth of cover and ambushes.
Inside the warehouse, chaos deepened. Cinella led the charge with a grim determination, slipping past fallen supply crates and upturned barrels as hidden assailants sprang from cover. The infiltrators fought with cornered resolve, their movements betraying just how vital this location was to their plan. Each strike, each defensive parry, revealed desperation beneath their silence. Maps scattered across the floor as a lantern crashed, its flames licking at the edge of their plans.
The fight pressed deeper into the compound. Dim corridors became choke points, every doorway another trap, every shadow a threat. The air was thick with sweat and the burn of lantern oil, and the thud of footsteps overhead suggested more enemies readying their descent. From an overlooking mezzanine, a figure gave orders in harsh whispers, trying to coordinate a retreat or perhaps a counter-ambush. Either way, they were fighting not just for ground but to keep their secrets from falling into unwanted hands.
Outside, the street continued to host its own deadly rhythm. Citizens cowered behind locked shutters, the clash of weapons setting their hearts pounding in tandem with the fury unfolding just beyond their walls. Cinellaโs cloaked allies held the perimeter as best they could, trying to prevent reinforcements from slipping in through side streets or alleys. They knew time was thin, and whatever information the building might yield had to be secured before the infiltrators could burn or flee with it.
And then it shifted. A heavier door at the rear of the warehouse cracked open as someone attempted escape, dragging with them a rolled bundle of parchment and a small satchel heavy with metal and glass. This was no longer just a skirmish. It was a race against destruction, and the next few moments would decide whether this enemy stronghold would crumble into smoke and lost chances or stand long enough to be unmasked.

The party was welcomed into a grand hall where the walls displayed fine tapestries and portraits of the king and queen, painted in moments of joy. These images sharply contrasted with the whispers the group had heard about the queenโs troubling behaviour. She had become so aggressive that the king had stopped all staff from attending to her. His decision to summon adventurers instead of using his own guard hinted at a deep concern. Before their meeting, they saw another group of adventurers departing in silence, one offering them a quiet wish of good luck.
In the royal audience chamber, adorned richly and guarded well, the young king greeted the party with warmth yet seriousness. He confided in them that Queen Lorel, who was expecting a child, had recently overcome an illness, yet her temper and actions had turned violent. One servant had even been attacked. Although all tests showed no trace of disease, something had clearly unsettled her. The kingโs voice held both hope and worry as he urged the party to investigate.
Their first lead was Tolf, the queenโs manservant, though they were stopped by a protective maid and healer. Tolf had been given medicine to ease his dreams, which had been filled with visions of a beast roaming the castle. The healer explained he cried out in fear but remembered little upon waking. Unable to question him immediately, the party continued to the queen. They were escorted carefully and warned to behave with respect. Inside her torn and battered room, Queen Lorel greeted them with suspicion and sorrow, occasionally shifting between rage and gentle honesty. She confessed to violent blackouts and a growing sense of being lost. Her sudden shift in mood as she requested lunch left the party unsure, the smell of cooking drifting softly behind them as they exited.
Eager for clarity, the party continued gathering what information they could. Despite asking many staff members, no one knew what the queen had been cured of or why she had changed. One name surfaced: Brother Shaemus, a healer whose visit to the queen had been short and mysterious. While asking about him, a commotion nearby led them to discover Tolf had woken. He greeted them with tired eyes and warned that the queenโs decline began after Shaemusโs treatment. Tolf, who had arrived in Blotvia with the queen, believed something had gone wrong with the so-called cure. Then he revealed a final truth. The queen was not simply illโshe was a werewolf.
The party returned to her chambers, disturbed by the dreadful sounds within and the frightened guard nearby. Inside, the destruction was far worse than before. Books, carpets, and furniture lay in ruins, and moonlight spilled across the stone floor. In the gloom, Queen Lorel crept forward, no longer herself. The woman they had spoken to earlier was gone. In her place was a snarling, wild creature, her fingernails scraping against the floor. Though they had heard she once controlled her lycanthropy, what now stared at them was pure instinct and fury. Only her silver necklace still sparkled in the roomโs pale light.

Tonight we have the Footpads, Runners and Shadows revealed for this weeks adventure. These creatures – well people – are currently running through the streets of Felkirk and causing chaos, death and confusion. Which will make their masters proud.
So get ready as we go explore the creatures for two different systems in tonight’s encounter!

D&D Statblocks for Infiltrator Footpad, Infiltrator Runner and Infiltrator Shadow – created in Tetra-cube.
The Footpads are the grunts for tonight’s encounter providing many easy targets that will cause more of a minion feel for the party. As this adventure is targeted for lower level parties they would be led by either a Runner or a Shadow, or perhaps both, as the shadow will appear on a roof nearby or in an alleyway and take pot-shots at the party while the runner will try to make the most of their underlings.
Where possible multiple Footpads will try and work together to restrain a party member by grappling and tying them up so that the Runner will gain advantage and finish them off. Otherwise its a pretty straight forward adventure with a single Runner or Shadow and a few Footpads to distract the party (scale with level of party)

Trying something new tonight as I have spent a fair bit of time the last few days watching and reading up on the Daggerheart system. The Jagged knife Lieutenant will have a few Lacky’s with him in the warehouse where he uses them as cheap bodies to go and do what needs to be done. When the Lacky’s fall he will get more reinforcements that are returning back to the warehouse until out of resources, or, the Lieutenant fall. The Shadow and be positioned on a roof, in an alley or somewhere they can sneak up to ambush a party member before attempting to slip away to get the drop on their targets once again.

Felkirk Streets is where we find ourselves for this weeks adventure and combat and with danger happening inside an old warehouse and on the street it warranted a different map for tonight’s adventure.
So stick to the shadows, or stick to the light if you’re feeling a bit spooked out in tonight’s adventure map!
The streets are wide enough for foot traffic and wagons along this part of the streets near the docks as its where many merchants store their goods before sale. However not all of them appear to be used for the storage of goods and one has a few nasty surprises hidden within. A few rooms decked out with beds to house the injured or sleeping, barrels of supplies and a plan for the next part of the attack can all be found within this small warehouse.
But behind a locked door there is much more as the party find out that those roaming the streets have been holding something back – their leader. On the streets there are a few alleys to hide in, fight in or make a desperate escape while crates and such can help or hinder the parties plans depending on what they are trying to do. A few lanterns are currently left on however if discretion is needed they could be extinguished very easily and swiftly. Or, used to flush out more of the assailants hiding in the area.
A fun and simple one tonight with a few different textures used for the stone streets and for the wood flooring inside the mostly x-ray view of the building. A few sources of light with directional light to emphasise the buildings blocking view with the slate roofs taking the show here.
Crates and barrels make up the rest of the main stuff with a few sleeping rolls added in there to show the room where the party believe the trouble is coming from A few carts to add depth and scale and that’s about all that it was. The night filter across it all to darken it and highlight its a night time adventure and that see’s it done.
Thanks for joining for another map night this week. Don’t forget that we have a few more nights left this week so make sure to come back each day to see what I add to this adventure. And lastly, as always, don’t forget to roll with advantage, The Brazen Wolfe
Tonight as the party rush back to where Lieutenant Cinella found them at the scene of the attack from the masked group they get pulled into finding the forward infiltration base before they can make it back to the inn. But they should be fine, after all its just another Wednesday for the party.
So tighten your laces, secure the straps on your bags as we rush off to find the source of these attacks in tonight’s adventure!
Forward Infiltration Base

As the party rushed back towards the Lost Anchor Inn Cinella’s fiery mood diminished as she got further away from the Captain of the Nightwatch. As she hurried ahead with her weapon drawn she, and a few of her men, kept an eye out forwards looking for any flash of dark cloth, any whisper of masked footstep or any other sign of where the infiltrators could be.
As they drew nearer to the Lost Anchor Inn she looked behind her at the party and stopped at the edge of an alley on Market street – where a lot of merchants stored their wares. ‘I really think we could have used your help in finding the location of their forward infiltration base, where ever they are operating out of in the city. I must be close by as they move around so quickly and quietly and very few patrols come back unscathed from this part of the city.’ she opened her mouth to say more but the hushed footsteps of padded shoes rushed past the entrance of the alley where they had stopped.
Stopping the conversation they glanced towards the entrance to see four masked and darkly cloaked individuals rushing past the entrance eastward down the street towards the docks. Rushing to the entrance they looked down the street but failed to see where they had gone which meant a few things. One, she was not wrong – they were situated nearby, and Two. It was really close nearby.
As she pulled out a darker coloured cloak from a bag on her hip she covered up her guards armour and stepped into the street – leaving her spear behind to walk forwards with a short blade instead. The hideout, this Forward Infiltration base was somewhere along this street and if they could take it out they would be able to stop the attacks on the city.
Looking back towards the party Cinella ushered them in closer. ‘It’s a lot for me to ask this, I could loose my station for it. But I fear if we don’t move now we may lose them and Tyr knows we could use the help.’ Before the party could reply a door opened to a shop near by and a man in dark clothes slipped out of the a nearby alley and started to walk down the street and past them. It looks like they may have found a way to find exactly where they were meeting if they could be discrete in following this individual.
Thanks for dropping by for another night at my tabletop. Don’t forget as we passed the midway point we have maps and monsters, well creature stat blocks left for this week. Tonight we meet the head of the night watch, well the new head of the night watch as they prepare a counter strike against the infiltrators who are currently sewing chaos through the streets. But while they may be old enough that does not mean that they are wise enough to correctly act in this station of power.
So prepare for trouble and make it, singular, as we dash forward in tonight’s adventure!
Counter Strike

Lieutenant Cinella Tanner – created in wordpress.
As the final assailant drop the sound of rushing hard-bottomed boots and clanking gear could be heard rushing towards them. Turning the corner came the vision of many ready swords, shields and people that formed a patrol of the nights watch. Looking over the party they assessed the fallen infiltrators across the ground before them.
A young woman walked forward to greet them ‘This your doing eh?’ she said pointing her spear at the limp forms of the masked individuals at their feet. She was maybe early twenties with a short bob of blonde hair that finished just above her brown eyebrows. A scar poked out from under her fringe and cut down across her right eye finishing at her jawbone which spoke of a wound that never quite healed correctly. As she judged the parties reply she nodded once. ‘It’d be best if you come with us. The new Captain will want to see you while he organises a counter strike.’
As the party hurried off with the night guard around them they were always watching for new signs of danger. A whisper of cloth here, a touch of leather and stone here, hurried whispers of fear elsewhere. There was signs that the fighting was not over yet and even worse, that the fighting was escalating elsewhere with explosions, horn blows and the cries of the dying from elsewhere in the city. ‘I am Lieutenant Cinella Tanner. We have suffered some pretty big loses from this brazen attack and we don’t know anything about them. You’re the first to have fought off and won against the assailants from what we have heard.’ she began as they turned onto a main street and marched their way to a barricade in the middle of the street. ‘Our own barracks was hit first. It claimed the life of Captain Jez Harker who died trying to get people in the locked up out even as the flames tore at the building.’
The few minutes that followed were quiet to say the least as they rushed towards the makeshift barracks. A tall man with a shot of silver hair was yelling loud enough that even outside of the parmentier that the party could tell he was beyond furious. ‘I don’t care how you do it! Get the rats out of my city now!’
Cinella looked at the party. ‘That’s the new captain, Svene Unwik. He’s been ordered to take control and get the streets back under our control. Give me a moment.’ she said as she darted forward. The party followed a few paces behind, let through the gates as Cinella had announced them in advance. But as they approached where the captain was they couldn’t even try to not overhear what was being said.
‘Lieutenant Tanner, there is no way that I am letting a bunch of civilians get involved. I don’t care what they are capable of, I will not speak to them. You are ordered to escort them back to where you found them and get back to patrolling the streets like what your duty is.’ the man spoke with such passion and speed that he did not give any chance for rebuttal or interruption. When they heard Cinella respond quietly it immediately met with a ‘Am I clear Lieutenant?’
Looking defeated Cinella marched out and strode past the party, her eyes furious. ‘Come with me.’ is all she said as she marched back to the streets. ‘I’ve got orders to escort you back to your accommodation.’ is all she said as she stormed off back the way they came.
